First Week of Mexico City MTC LIFE!

Family and Friends!!   Write to me at sidney.snowden@myldsmail.net

So i dont really want to take the time to write everyones email in the little box.. so mom forward it haha!

MTC life is kinda crazy, you are way too busy to feel any kind of homesickness, and you are way too busy to miss anything really! wake up, study, eat, study , then class for 4 hrs. study some more, lunch, teach (IN SPANISH!) study, lanugaue class, language study, comp. study, prayer, bed. ZERO TIME!!!

BUT it has been really great! there are four of us in a bed room, all american unfortunatly... but we are all learning together. I sadly have the best español, so that is mal. But hopefully we can do it! I pray ALOT! but I have to pray in spanish, the are very simple but meaningful prayers and thats okay cause thats all they really need to be im learning!

My comp. is hna. Goubler, I went to timp with her! (girl from airport) we get along really well! But I am a person who likes to get things done in as little tiempo possible, and she likes to.... take her tiempo. So i am learning to be patient, and she is learning to hurry up :)

The food here is... Disgusting haha! We were all SO GLAD you sent that package mom, we were hungry haha even if it was just full of chocolate! But i eat cereal and PB sandwiches everyday, all meals. Sometimes they have good pollo, but todays was extra dry and bland. so that was awesome!

sPIRIRTUAL MOMENT: last night I was trying to memorize the Primero Vision, in spanish. I got really frustated, so my district decided to sing spanish hymnos instead. HYMNOS are much better in español, I swear on my viva. (my spanish still sucks you can see)  but the 12 of us in our district just started singing and all the elders had tears. IT WAS AWESOME!

TEACHING: Ana is our investiagtor, our first lesson was okay, we didnt know any spanish so that was hard, but it was good. 2 lesson, just mal. muy muy mal. Nothing went right, everything was bad. it was horrid. 3 lesson after praying and praying and praying, it was FANTASTIC! spirit was awesome, and she said she would " think" about being bautismo on sept. 2 (day I leave!) haha but that was good!

wow such a long email so sorry! but te amo, y para siempre Dios este con vos.

Herman Nieve-Den. (no spanish person can say my last name very funny!)

p.s. it rains every night´from 5-midnight, i love this weather, also there is mexican music all around the CCM from out side the 12 ft. wall haha, and gun shot noises that are actually fireworks.
hey go off every day. Even at 5 am. its really annoying! but its been funny to actually see Mexican culture.

My compañera also hates me, I made her do "Dreanch work out" today for PDAY 100 burpiees 100 push ups 100 situps. We cant move.. haha i think ive lost 5 pound already not even kidding! so good or bad depending how you look at it ;) but Ive gotta go now,for reals  so te amo

Driving from the Airport to the CCM a guy was hanging on the back of the car infornt of us with a HUGE gun<1 I asked an elder what gun it was, a 42 something... BUT IT WAS BIG! I will have an Hermana send me a picture sometime so I can send it too you, I found Hermana Bradly, She is awesome. So Far I love it! Ive met lots of poeple going to my mission 3 Hermanas, 1 Elder. Farewells, Goodbyes and EXCITEMENT

Sid left for the MTC in Mexico City today!  We had to have her at the airport by 4:00 am.  Her goodbye went alright!  We are all just so excited for her to finally be off on this adventure.

She met her travel buddy Valerie Gubler through social media.  Valerie was sweet enough to come to her farewell.

Sidney did a great job on her Farewell talk.  Her topic was on keeping the Sabbath day Holy.  She talked about traveling with LADM and how she set a goal to talk to people about the gospel every Sunday.  This really inspired her to become a missionary.

She was set apart around 10:00 pm. All her newly returned missionary brothers came over and helped set her apart.  It was a very special night.  They all gave her advice and told her one thing they learned from their mission.  Her blessing was awesome.  It seemed 10 minutes long and she was blessed with everything I could have thought of.  I'm so thankful for the spirit that was in our home that night!
